CHRISTENINGS

If you decide to go to the expense of employing us to photograph your child's Christening, I feel it is important to take full advantage of the family nature of such a day. For this reason our coverage of Christenings includes as many photographs of the extended family as is possible. The following is what we consider to be the best method of covering a Christening.

Christenings are shot in the digital format and 75% will be in colour and the remainder in black and white. A film coverage is available but it adds 25% to the Christening prices.

1½ HOURS BEFORE THE CHURCH SERVICE

Photographer arrives and prepares an area for the child's formal photographs.

45 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE CHURCH SERVICE

Start formal photographs. Black and white and colour. These should, if all goes well, consist of the following:

1. Individuals of child.
2. Mother and child.
3. Mother, Father and Child.
4. Whole family group.
5. Siblings and Child

It is important to keep this session fairly quiet and quick because (a) one gets the best results and (b) The baby is then in a fit state for the service. Some of you I know would rather have this session up to 2 hours before the start of the service and I am happy to do this, but it does extend the coverage somewhat as can be seen in Christening prices.

ARRIVAL AT CHURCH

I keep these shots very informal, in colour. Just a few shots as friends and family gather at the Church before the Christening.

DURING THE SERVICE

Normally, I do not take any photographs at all during the actual service. If it is a private service and the Vicar is happy, this rule can be reversed. Please check with your vicar.

Once the service is over, I am more than happy to do some shots around the font in both black and white and colour. These photos should include the following.

1. Mother, Father and baby.
2. Mother, Father, Baby and Vicar.
3. As in 1 above with siblings.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE SERVICE

Here I am keen to get as many formal photographs as you want out of the way as quickly as possible. These normally take place back at the house, either inside or outside and should consist of some or all of the following: -

1. Grandparents.
2. Godparents.
3. 3 or more generations etc.

DURING THE RECEPTION

If time allows, I am happy to stay for part or all of the reception to get some informal and candid shots of those attending.

PRESENTATION OF PHOTOS

I like to produce approximately 150-200 (depending on size of party) colour and black and white photographs at 7x5" and 6x4”.

Within 16 working days of the Christening we will send you all the prints. You should look through them and return all those that you would like us to put in your Christening Album.

We will then permanently stick all these photographs into an Album of your choice. Please visit Locketts to view our albums. We will also block the child's name and the date of the Christening, on the centre front of the book, in gold.
