at home sittings

These sittings take place in your home or garden, wherever you live in the country. This is the absolutely the ideal place to get the very best out of your children.

Sittings are very informal affairs, full of fun and entertainment. Do not fear, your children will enjoy it and they will perform. If you visit our at home sittings gallery you will see the mood I set out to capture.

During a sitting I take individual photos of each child, all children together and some family groups.

A sitting for a family of 3 children normally takes 2½ hours and produces about 130-160 proofs which can be supplied on the internet or as contact sheets sent directly to your home.

Photographs may be ordered in black and white, sepia or colour either mounted or un-mounted and of course framed if required. From the results of a sitting we can produce a mass of fantastic products. Visit all products and prices to have a look at what is on offer.

Clothing is entirely your choice, I am very happy to advise where necessary.

One does not need the sun to take first class photos. In the event of very wet weather, we continue under cover or just wait it out. Surprisingly enough very few sittings get spoiled by the weather.

If you want a traditional Studio sitting at home, this is possible as I will have a portable studio setup in the car. Please let us know at the time of booking. Please note, an at home sitting fee applies on the occasions.

sitting fee explained

The sitting fee is worked out on the number of people to be photographed individually. It covers one family and includes 30 individual shots of each child, various group shots of all children and some family groupings.

Individual sitters in addition to four are charged at £60.00 each. This includes parents who want individual portraits of themselves. I am more than happy to photograph extra people but where possible let us know the numbers at the time of booking so we can allow extra time.

Our sitting fee includes a 10x8 inch mounted and signed photograph of each individual sitter.

If you would like a sitting this year or are just contemplating the idea, please call us soonest as these tours take some months to organise and the earlier you let us know you are interested the more likely you are to get a date that suits you.

travel

We make a charge for travel it is nearly always shared with at least 1 or 2 other families. Sadly this charge is a necessity as I do the most enormous mileage. Please see travel charges for further information.

cancellations

Another charge we hate to make but very rarely we have to. Tour sittings cancelled within 1 week of the due date may attract a 50% cancellation fee. See our cancellation policy for full details.
