THE COLDSTREAM GUARDSServing us all, since 1650 My younger brother Jack is currently serving in Afghanistan for 6 months with the Coldstream Guards. You are I am sure aware, that these tours are “no walk in the park”, and that the injuries sustained by many of the soldiers, both psychologically and physically are absolutely horrendous. In many cases these men and women will need continuous support for the rest of their lives. Help for Heroes and other organisations are doing brilliantly and their efforts are already making an enormous difference to service men and women on a national basis. It is still however really important that individual Regiments have the funds to offer a much more personal form of help from within the Regimental family. As a result I would like to try and raise as much money as possible for the Coldstream Guards Charitable Funds (Registered charity number 275062) which actively helps Coldstreamers who are in need of assistance as a result of their service to their Regiment and their Country. Myself and three friends are going to cycle from Amsterdam to Monaco in 7 days starting on the 9th May this year. As an added challenge we are trying to go through 7 countries in all which will make the total distance covered approximately 950 miles which is roughly 130-140 miles a day!!
Please support us in our efforts to raise as much money as possible for this fund.
